87 caps? That's not very many. I have no idea at all who might have laughed as you, but I think the person might have thought you had done 87 naked Gary in the water caps (that's what I would have done).

I really liked this film. It was far more interesting that the book. And naked Gary is very easy on the eye :)

Too dark to get the ummm water bits. Would have mistaken a fish for a bit by the time I was lightening it!

They took a few liberties with the book. Gary gives Dimmsdale a pretty good Scottish accent too. :)

I vaguely remember enjoying this version, although I always hated the point of the book. You referenced Rumour and Scout; am I to presume that the children are Demi's? I didn't know that. Gary looks decidedly un-crazy in 1995. What a shame his life took such a dump in the years since, and ruined him emotionally, and thus physically. He's had a hard time of it. Nice to see him before the fall. It makes me remember why I liked him so much. A bittersweet memory. Thanks.

Yep, Demi's kids played Pearl as an infant and toddler.
