Yum yum. They are gorgeous (and Viggo's not bad himself).

A nice treat at the end of a disillusioning day. Thank you :)

I can't decide which of the three is the most adorable. Course the puppies have gotten a heck of a lot bigger where ever they've gotten to...

Wouldn't you just love to be those puppies....just for a little while?

I may be getting a puppy by year's end. Not sure yet. The one Viggo has is very cute.

Oooh what breed? All puppies are cute, though, no matter what kind.

First choice is a Siberian Husky
Second - Cavalier King Charles Spaniel
Third - Golden Retriever

Regardless of which breed I actually get, it will be from a rescue shelter.

I don't think people should give pets to others. What if Viggo didn't want that particular breed, or isn't ready for another dog yet? Which he obviously wasn't, since he didn't take them. A pet is very special, and a long term commitment that you decide for yourself, not put on public display. I'm glad he handled it with such diplomacy, though. Whoever is taking care of the dogs all this time is probably loathe to give them up now, and I doubt Viggo will ever claim them. He made some mention somewhere after Bridget died that he wanted another dog, but didn't have the time to commit to one right now. Very astute of him. Bridget must have been very lonely without him home for so much of the time. Dogs need their masters; they're pack animals after all.

Cheers,

Janet

I think it's selfish to have an animal if you're never around. They sure love their peoples!

Very cute. Two things I'm confused about...

1) Janet mentioned that someone was looking after them. Are they Viggo's for the taking then?

2)When was this taken. His hair's a lovely colour (of course, I would say that as it's the same colour as mine - though without some much of the grey)

1) I'm not sure as I've read an article that implied the dog(s?) haven't made it to the US but are still in Europe. Can't imagine the masters would want to separate now.

2) Ditto above. I can't keep track and rely on someone else to know the timeline on pics. Sorry.

I'm pretty sure the photos were taken when he received the honor in Leon this year or last year, when they made him an honerary citizen, or something like that. Don't know who gave him the dogs, but I'm sure you're right; they wouldn't wan't him to 'come and claim him' now that so much time has passed, and I assume that it was Viggo's intention for it to play out that way. At least that's what I would have done. I wouldn't wan't anyone picking out a pet for me either. He probably felt bad about having to leave Bridget so much, but when he got her, he was married with a young son, so she wasn't left alone for most of her life. And we don't know who cared for her when he was away. It could very well have been Henry, since they live close. I'm sure she was well loved and cared for.

Cheers,

Janet

Trouble with puppies is that they turn into old dogs ( bit like men then??!!!) and I have two- one of which is on hear tablets twice a day and the other is constantly at the vets with horrible stuff I shant bore you with. Now I know that they have brought much pleasure and are my sons 'surrogate sisters' ( as he is an only child) but I would say unless you can have 100% commitment to them it aint worth it. Once my two pop their clogs I am not having any more pets- I want to be free to travel, go away for the weekend, go out for the day etc etc without having to wory and sort out 2 doggies. Viggo was right not to take those adorabable but tying puppies. IMHO. The lesson endeth.??? : ))
