We always give to the food shelf, all year round because they don't need food just at Christmas. Then there is an adopt a family program through them, it's a wonderful way to help :)

We have a spot at church where you can drop off canned goods that go to a local shelter and usually we'll take a can or two to drop off there once a month.

Sad we tend to think more of the homeless this time of year. Maybe it's because, too, it's so much colder?
