Greatest cartoons of all time (video link roundup)

Cityrag has compiled video links for a list of The 50 Greatest Cartoons as voted on by the animation industry in 1994. Here's an excerpt:

1. What's Opera, Doc? (1957)
2. Duck Amuck (1953)
3. The Band Concert (1935)
4. Duck Dodgers in the 24½th Century (1953)
5. One Froggy Evening (1956)
The complete list is here, and it's absolutely awesome: Link.

None of the Yahoo vid links would work for me... I must say What's Opera, Doc is one of my most favorites, and I'm tickled it's #1. I must have good taste!

The "magic helmet" line always gets me. *giggle*
I've always prefered the Rabbit of Seville myself. That, and Duck Rabbit Duck, Ali baba bunny. Daffy/Bugs pairing at it's very very best!

kill the wabbit must be one of the first cartoon phrases I remember... to song no less! Everytime I hear that music I think of ELmer Fudd. What a mem'ry. :)

Just spent some time watching some of these - of the ones I haven't seen. Gertie the Dinosaur and Gerald McBoing Boing are pretty good.
*coughs* I can sing along with the Rabbit of Seville...

I love the Warner Brothers cartoons and especially Bugs Bunny. I was so disappointed when the Cartoon Network stopped showing June Bugs for the first weekend in June. I think they moved it to their boomerang network which is only on digital cable where I live.
I am very tempted to get the DVD sets.

bambi meets godzilla, ha ha!
i always got a kick out of that one.
but i do not agree with their description , comparing or relating it to monty python. The whole point of the cartoon is of what happens when bambi meets godzilla.... he gets stepped on because that is what godzilla does, he either steps on you, swats you like a fly with his tail, or burns you with his firemouth

I love those classic Warner/Bugs Bunny/Chuck Jones cartoons. Love, love them. Someday I'm going to get the DVDs.

I can't remember the titles but I love the one where Bugs lives close to an opera singer and drives the guy nuts and then one where Daffy and Porky (I think) end up at a haunted house.
