Quote: Most Beautiful Man in the World
Mar. 10th, 2006 06:10 amRevered by his fans as "the most beautiful man in the world", in person Mortensen strikes a slightly less imposing figure. Admirably lithe and taut at 48, he is an attractive man, sitting in bare feet and with a wrist band that says "peace".
An artist for all seasons

Date: 2006-03-10 06:19 pm (UTC)And kinda sorta related to wowie's point - ever since this entry popped up on my flist I've had Charlie Rich's song "The Most Beautiful Girl in the World" in my head. It was my absolute favorite favorite song when I was five years old. So, thanks for the random nostalgia trip!

I don't remember if Daddio sang it to me or not, though he did like to sing. Both my folks were big country music fans back in the day. Charlie Rich, Marty Robbins, Charlie Pride, Glen Campbell, Mac Davis, Mel Tillis...all those guys. I get quite misty at the mere mention of "El Paso" - I can still sing every single word.

My grandfather looooooved country and they never had a working record player that I remembered and he'd bring all these LPs over all listen to so I had snippets of tons of older country stuff in my head.

Date: 2006-03-11 05:47 am (UTC)Dear Mr. Photographer,
Please excuse Viggo from pictures today as he drank too much mate and was up all last night with a sore tummy.
I'll bet it was the PR people for NewLine. I don't think he does have his own "people", aside from the necessary evils, such as an agent, etc. I love the guy and all, but could you imagine keeping him on task? I swear, he wouldn't last a day with me ...

Date: 2006-03-11 03:30 pm (UTC)I could say the same "mood" thing about Cronenberg. Geezus, the man is p!ssed. I am glad that he finally addressed the "Crash" name controversy though. I always wondered why the studios would let that happen. Naturally, because it's two Canadian directors, our press is having a field day with it.
Sure, HoV should have done much better, but I'm worried it's all gonna seem like sour grapes. Same goes for the comments Viggo's made about studying HoV in school. If I didn't know the man better I would be waiting for him to "jump the couch" over this.

Date: 2006-03-11 07:08 pm (UTC)I don't understand the same movie title thing, after all, don't actors have to use slightly different names (i.e. middle initials?) to avoid confusion?

Date: 2006-03-11 07:59 pm (UTC)And yes, there is that rule with actors, but they have to register with SAG. Where would you register a movie title? This industry isn't known for common-sense.
